The Union Hotel can cater for functions big or small. Book a table, rope off a section, or organise an entire room for that special occasion. Catering for all types of celebrations including 21st, 30th, 40th, or 50th Birthdays (or any in between), Engagement Parties, Retirement Parties, Hen’s Nights, Corporate Dinners, Fundraisers, Wakes, Christenings…the list goes on. FAQs

No matter the size of the function we can cater. All spaces can be utilized, however, to have a room exclusively to yourself you will have to book the Function Room. If you require the function room there is a room hire fee of $100 (non-refundable). Once paid, the room is secured, until that point in time the date will remain available to other patrons.

Smaller functions can utilize a space in the Beer Garden or dining area, whereby there is no room hire fee attached. Depending on the size, management will advise you as to whether we can cater for your group in this area.

We are licensed until 1am (Monday-Saturday) and until 11pm (Sunday). We will stop serving beverages approximately 20 minutes before we are required to shut to allow all patrons to leave the premises at this time.

For a cocktail function a maximum of 120 people are allowed, and for seated meals, we can cater for up to 60 people.

The most popular choice of food for functions is our extensive finger food menu. Catering to all your budgetary and dietary requirements, we will ensure that nobody walks away hungry.

Further to this we have the ability to cater to any size group for a seated meal. Choosing from our menu, we would encourage larger groups to opt for a set menu with alternate drops or a limited menu. Please call to discuss your options.

A celebratory cake (i.e. birthday cake) is of no concern. There is no cakeage fee attached to bringing this in, but we would ask that you cut it up yourselves. The Union will provide all plates and cutlery.

No other food can be brought in, particularly hot food.

Minimum spend applies to some areas, depending on time of year and day of the week. Please contact the venue for more information.

We have an iPod docking station in the Function room for you to bring in your own iPod.

We allow for you to bring in you own entertainment (DJ, band, acoustic act) but we require that after 11pm you take into consideration our neighbors with regard to noise.

If having a function in the Beer Garden or dining area, the Union will use their own iPod or have their live acts playing.

All decorations are allowed, but we ask that only blu-tack be used if hanging anything from walls, and balloons be weighed down (if possible). the Union provides you with free white linen for all tables.

Provided there are no functions in the afternoon, you can access the room from 12pm.

If you save a file to USB then we have the ability to show the show through our TV.

In the function room there is no microphone. If required, we advise that you let staff know immediately and we will endeavor to gain access to a microphone.

No, but if you wish to have security then we will have to organize it. The cost of the security will have to be paid by yourself, and is not included in the minimum spend.
